Welcome to The Athenaeum
The Athenaeum is comprised of FFXIV Roleplay-centric Linkshells and a Discord Server for players located on the Balmung world.
Holding regular events in the Dungeons and Dragons style, as well as pure roleplay events, The Athenaeum hopes to offer a place for each and every kind of roleplayer.
The overriding themes that can be found within the walls of The Athenaeum include: Espionage, Research and Cataloguing, Information and Intelligence Gathering, and Combat.
About The Athenaeum
The Athenaeum is an IC Linkshell, an OOC Linkshell, and an IC/OOC Discord Server which revolves around the themes of intelligence gathering and preservation.
Within the walls of The Athenaeum, knowledge, relics and artifacts of all kinds are kept safely under lock and key for both current and future generations to learn from the intelligence garnered from them.
Owned and founded by Megetu Adarkim, who also owns and runs a store called Divine Flora, The Athenaeum was a brainchild that came about due to an interest in things such as the occult, history, botany, and associated topics. The Athenaeum, however, deals in any kind of knowledge that deserves preservation and safe keeping.
With an office in the basement of a shop in the Lavender Beds, Ward 8, Plot 34, and a storeroom/library located in Mist, Ward 10, Topmast Room 85, The Athenaeum is a small organisation with dreams of becoming one of the biggest and best of its kind.
Front-facing, The Athenaeum appears to be a regular library, but dig a little deeper and you'll find a world of espionage, secrets, and relics kept under lock and key.

How Do I Apply to The Athenaeum?
All applications are processed through Google Forms. You can find the Application linked upon our Tumblr theme.
When will I hear back from you?
All applications will be responded to within a week at the most. Usually they will be replied to within three days.
Who do I contact if I have a question or issue?
You can contact the owner of The Athenaeum on Discord, (Megetu#7340,) or through The Athenaeum's Tumblr, the-athenaeum. For a quicker response, I suggest using Discord!
Where is The Athenaeum located?
The Athenaeum's Library is located in The Topmast in Mist Ward 10, Room 85. There is also a satellite office at Divine Flora, which can be found at Lavender Beds, Ward 8, Plot 34, in the basement behind the sliding door.
What system do you use for events?
We use the D&D 5E system. All rolls are done via Discord bot in a handy channel expressly for that purpose. The Bot we use for D&D combat is Dash Delta.
